You slept fine. Your eyes say otherwise.
Under-eye concerns are tricky because five different problems can look almost identical. The treatment for each is completely different - and some we don't treat at all.
Sound familiar?
You are not imagining it.
- People ask if you're tired when you slept eight hours.
- Concealer creases into the lines by mid-morning.
- You've been through four eye creams and kept none of them.
- The front-facing camera is not your friend.
- You look older than you feel, and it's mostly your eyes.
Why this area is different
The thinnest skin on your entire body.
Under-eye skin is roughly 0.5mm thick - about a third the thickness of the skin on the rest of your face. It has fewer oil glands, less collagen, and almost no fat underneath to cushion it. That's why it shows age first, and why it's so unforgiving.
But here's what most people don't realize: "tired eyes" isn't one problem. It's at least five different problems that happen to look similar. And the treatment for each is completely different.
Understanding the causes
Five problems that look like one.
Thinning, crepey skin
Fine lines, crepe-paper texture, translucent skin showing everything underneath.
✓ We treat this
Visible blood vessels
Blue or purple discoloration - your vessels showing through thinning skin.
◐ Partially treatable
Hollowing (tear troughs)
Sunken groove between eyelid and cheek. Volume loss, thinning skin, or both.
◐ Partially treatable with PRP + skin tightening
Puffy eye fat pad
Puffy pouches under the eyes. Sometimes structural, sometimes improved by tightening the skin over them.
◐ Sometimes improved with skin tightening
Pigmentation
Brown or gray color in the skin itself - genetics, sun, or rubbing.
◐ Sometimes treatable
The consultation determines which you have. We'll be honest about what we can fix - and what we can't.
Why the eye creams didn't work
It was never a product problem.
Eye creams hydrate the surface and temporarily depuff. They cannot thicken skin that has structurally thinned. They cannot reposition a fat pad. They cannot fill a hollow. And they cannot lighten deep pigmentation.
That's not a knock on eye creams - it's just physics. They're maintenance, not correction. When the problem is structural, the solution has to go deeper than the surface.
Thinking about eyelid surgery?
You might not need it. Let's find out first.
A lot of people come to us after researching blepharoplasty. Some genuinely need it - and we'll tell you if that's the case. But many don't. What looks like excess skin or puffiness is often thinning skin, lost volume, or both. That's treatable without surgery, without scars, and without weeks of recovery.
If surgery is the right answer, we'll say so and refer you to an oculoplastic surgeon. But it's worth ruling out the simpler fix first.
How we treat it
What we actually do.
For skin-quality issues - thinning, crepiness, fine lines, and mild darkness from visible vessels - we treat the skin itself. We stimulate collagen production to thicken and tighten the under-eye area, making it less translucent and more resilient.
For tear trough hollowing, we may combine PRP injections with skin tightening if you're a good candidate. For puffy eye fat pads, we can sometimes improve the look by tightening the skin over the area, even when we can't make the fat pad fully disappear. And if pigment is the main issue, we'll be honest about what's realistic.
Treated within your customized plan. We build a solution around you.
What to expect
The four numbers before you book.
This is one of the trickiest areas on the face, which is exactly why the consultation matters. The goal is to figure out whether your issue is mostly skin, volume loss, puffiness, pigment - or a combination - so we can tell you what's realistically improvable.
